IMPORTANT UPDATES
Last week Dynamic Syndications released onto the market our stunning colt with the Pedigree and Conformation to be a Superstar.
Add in his Record Genetic Pedigree Rating Score, we knew we had something special !
Over the past week we received the following reports on our colt. We’re excited and would like to share these with you:
From The Educator :
Gavin Edwards – Findlay (2 June – 28 July)
“This is a tremendous moving individual, strong and intelligent; he also displays a great attitude and a terrific temperament for a colt. He covers good ground with a fluid stride and displays an easy, economical action. He’s a WOW horse – One of the best we have broken-in for Dynamic in 2008.”
From The Pre-Trainer:
Gary Nickson
At Warwick Farm (28 July – 6 August)
“This colt arrived from the breakers like a ready made professional. He reminds me very much of Dynamic’s previous Zabeel colt Savabeel. It’s like this colt’s been on the planet before. He’s Strong, Ready Made and Quick to Learn, he gave our riders an excellent feel under saddle. He has the maturity and action that would not surprise if he is a quality Autumn 2yo and should be aimed at races like the Group 1 AJC Sires Produce and Champagne Stakes but whatever he does as a 2yo, he will be better again as a 3yo and 4yo.

From the Agistment Property:
Tony Hall - Oakridge (6 August – Today)
“The colt has arrived back from his Education and Pre-Training experiences in wonderful condition and settled straight back into the paddock. He held his condition well, and has grown and strengthened significantly whilst in work. He is back with us for a short let-up to unwind from his first experience at stable life and is scheduled to return to the pre-training stables on the 1st September. He’s a lovely, sensible colt and easy to care for. He is enjoying his time in the paddock and has put on condition already. He’s simply a stunning individual.”
From Dynamic Syndications:
Dean Watt – Managing Director
“It’s easy for us to be positive about horses we buy for syndication because we never deviate from our proven philosophy of buying well bred, well conformed, athletic horses, who have excellent pedigree scores and who pass a detailed physical veterinary inspection which includes x-rays. However it’s extremely satisfying and incredibly exciting when our team of professional horsemen confirms that our chosen horse appears well above average.”

ABOUT OUR TRAINER :
PETER MOODY @ CAULFIELD
PETER MOODY WINS THE BLUE DIAMOND FOR
DYNAMIC SYNDICATIONS - PRICELESS !!
Dynamic Syndications are delighted to announce that leading Caulfield Trainer PETER MOODY will be training this outstanding young thoroughbred for our team.
Peter Moody & Dynamic Syndications are forging a strong racing alliance at GROUP 1 Level on the back of success he has had with BLUE DIAMOND and BLUE DIAMOND Preview winner REWARD FOR EFFORT along with the walking headline horse PILLAR OF HERCULES which Dynamic Syndications paid $1.8m to secure at Auction and gave to Peter Moody to polish the best out of the stunning colt.
Peter Moody is also putting the polish on our promising stayer TRIUMPHANT CHOICE
Peter has done fantastically well over the past few seasons & in particular was the undisputed BEST TRAINER IN AUSTRALIA having trained more Stakes Winners than any of his peers AUSTRALIA WIDE.
Peter Moody's first taste of Group 1 success came in November 2001 when his Carnegie colt Amalfi won the VRC Derby.
This win helped establish Peter in Victoria where he had set up a small satellite stable. In 2003 Peter closed his Queensland operation to concentrate on his expanding Caulfield base.
Growing up in Charleville in Country Queensland and having worked for legendary trainers T.J. Smith & Colin Hayes, Peter went on to be foreman for Bill Mitchell for 10 years before applying and being granted a number one trainers license.
2003 not only brought the move to the new Caulfield base it also brought the next Group 1 success Ancient Song. She won the Group 1 Salinger Stakes. In 2004 Sky Cuddle took out the Group 1 Emirates Stakes.
Further Group 1 success has followed with Testafiable taking out the S.A. Derby.
In his first full racing season of 2004/05 Peter won the Victorian Country Trainers premiership and finished second on the Victorian Premiership. The 2005/2006 season was very successful with over 160 winners for the year, finishing 3rd on the Metropolitan premiership with over 50 winners, 2nd on the Victorian & Victorian Country Premiership and 5th in Australia. The 2006/2007 was also very successful with 146 winners.

There are 60 horses in the stables at Caulfield and Peter believes this is a manageable number that allows him to keep track of each horse and give it his personal attention.
One of the things that Peter likes about Caulfield is that the training facilities are excellent. It enables him to train his horses as individuals in a quiet atmosphere with plenty of time and room.
Peter prides himself on his strike rate and believes that winning becomes a habit, so he places his client's horses where he thinks they can win. He will go anywhere for the right races, from Tasmania to Darwin to Perth and all tracks in between.
Peter's training approach is to prepare each horse for its strengths, whether it's a sprinter, a middle distance horse or a stayer and according to his client's objectives.
This flexible approach allows Peter to provide a complete training service across the board.
By seeing each horse as an individual, they can be given their own routine so that that Peter doesn't have to drive them if they are not ready to cope with the work. He has a similar approach to feeding. "I work to my feed and feed to my work" is Peter's method.
A major ingredient of Peter's success is the team around him Peter's assistant trainer Tony Haydon has been with him for 12 years and a lot of Peter's success can be attributed to Tony's care and attention. Racing Manager Jeff O'Connor assists with the important task of placing horses to their best advantage and client liaising, Marni Kelly handles the office administration, Peter's wife Sarah an experienced horse woman assists not only with the running of the office but also with trackwork and the running of their spelling farm Carbrecel Park.
The stables at Caulfield consist of 60 boxes & 10 day yards in a modern building with all the excellent infrastructure on the Caulfield site for exercising, washing, swimming and feeding horses.
When not in training the horses are spelled at Peter's own farm Carbrecel Park, other regularly used farms are Rockmount at Euroa, Cloverdale and Briarwood Agistment both at Pakenham.
All horses are pre trained for 3-4 weeks before coming into the Caulfield stable, horses that have suffered injuries or have wear and tear from the rigours of racing are sent to the water walker at Murchison for approximately 8 weeks this is a non impact way of getting the horses to an advanced fitness level before coming to the Caulfield stables.
Clients are welcomed to come and view their horses by appointment.

A PROVEN NICK :
NICK = SUCCESS RATE
His Genetics – He’s Bred to a "PROVEN NICK"
Genetically – he’s bred to be outstanding. When we went to the sales we were looking first and foremost for the individual. He had to be an equine athlete. It’s an incredible set of coincidence until you analyse the statistics and then the old proverb rings true again -
“The apple doesn’t roll far from the tree”.
So, it makes sense to keep drilling where oil has been found.

Zabeel - His Story
In all, Zabeel has won 17Australasian sire premierships and is Odds-On to make it 18 with the 2007-08 season coming to a close. Zabeel has appeared in the top 10 Australian Sires (by progeny earnings) every season since 1996, heading the list twice and has only been out of the top five once.
Zabeel has sired 39 individual Group 1 winners and 115 individual stakes winners making him the “GREATEST STALLION” to stand at stud in New Zealand since his own great sire, Sir Tristram.
He is the sire of the 2007 Melbourne Cup winner, Efficient (ex Refused the Dance by Defensive Play).
Zabeel assumed the mantle of New Zealand's flagship stallion from his own legendary sire, SIR TRISTRAM, who died in May 1997. That was just after Zabeel won the first of his twelve (12) Dewar Stallion Trophy awards (in 1995-96), and just before he claimed his first general sire premierships in Australia & New Zealand (1997-98).
The important role he's played in maintaining New Zealand's profile in Australia during the past decade cannot be over-stated. He's appeared in the top ten Australian sires (by progeny earnings) every season since 1996, heading the list twice, and has only once slipped out of the top five, in 2003. Zabeel has been alone among active New Zealand-based sires in the latter group for all but two of those eleven seasons. In 1996 he was joined by Norman Pentaquad, sire of Doriemus, and a year later by Saintly’s sire Sky Chase.
Zabeel's stars in 2005-06 included World Series Champion VENGEANCE OF RAIN in Hong Kong, dual Australian G1 winner RAILINGS, VRC MacKinnon S. G1 winner LAD OF THE MANOR and ARC Galaxy S. G1 winner BAZELLE. These horses helped Zabeel to third place on the Australian general sires' list, behind Redoute's Choice & Encosta De Lago; second place on the Hong Kong sires’ list, behind Danehill; while ZARIUS was his leading earner in New Zealand, where he finished ninth on the general sires’ premiership.
Zabeel has an amzing set of statistics to back him up. Now sired 114 stakeswinners (11.08%) from 1028 starters, a remarkable figure across 12 crops.
That total includes 39 Group One winners, among them Australian Horses of the Year MIGHT AND POWER (1998 & 1999), and OCTAGONAL (1996). His New Zealand AEI figure for last season was better than 2.0, meaning that on average Zabeel’s progeny earned more than twice the average available funds per runner.
Zabeel’s status as a top ten sire in Australia is confirmed by the ABR's recently introduced APEX ratings tables. In 2006 he was fourth on the list by “A” rating with a figure of 4.45, and seventh on the “ABC” rating list, with 2.66. In 2007 Zabeel’s “A” Rating is 3.93 and his “ABC” Rating was 2.53.
Not surprisingly, Zabeel is beginning to make a mark as a broodmare sire, in the Australian and New Zealand broodmare sires' lists, largely thanks to AJC Derby G1 winner HEADTURNER and dual G1 DARCI BRAHMA. They are among the 32 stakeswinners left to date by Zabeel’s daughters. The final challenge for Zabeel, now twenty one years old, is to establish his own stallion dynasty.
This is taking longer than it might have, because most of his best racing sons from his early crops were geldings. (And what a line-up they were: Might And Power, Sky Heights, Zonda, Hades, Dignity Dancer, Bezeal Bay, Cronus and company).
The exceptions were Eight Carat’s sons, the brilliant but infertile Mouawad, and the champion Octagonal who, despite leaving his own champion son in Lonhro, has not fulfilled his promise with 17 stakeswinners (2%) from 857 foals to date.
However, it’s too soon to dismiss the possibility of a Zabeel sire-line, because he’s had four Group One-winning sons begin stud careers in the past three years: Don Eduardo, Savabeel and St Reims in New Zealand, and Reset in Australia. His other New Zealand-based sire sons are Colombia, I Conquer and Sunray.
A thoroughly reliable source of classic performance in Australasia is the verdict on Zabeel. At first reading it seems insufficient praise for a horse that has won 17 official stallion premierships, left two Australian Horses of the Year, generated yearling sale receipts of $150 million since 1995 and has nine yearlings in the million-dollar-plus club. The test is how many other stallions qualify for that description.
The answer, fifteen years after Zabeel began stud duties at Cambridge Stud, is “hardly any.”
Breaking News : Sunday, 22 June 2008
Zabeel Odds-On To Make It 13 Dewar Trophy Premierships In-A-Row
Cambridge Stud multiple champion stallion Zabeel has retained his advantage in the battle for the Dewar Stallion Trophy Award this season.
In one of the tightest battles for the prestige stallion award in recent years Zabeel's combined Australian and New Zealand progeny earnings in 2007/08 amount to NZ$7,826,163 (as of 22/6/08) while arch rival O'Reilly has combined Australasian progeny earnings of NZ$7,511,724.
Zabeel, the sire of 38 individual Group 1 winners, has won the Dewar Award already on 12 consecutive occasions and is chasing title number 13 this season. He has won a total of 17 stallion awards during a sterling stud career which has entirely been based at Cambridge Stud,
Zabeel's major earner in Australia this season has been the 2007 Melbourne Cup winner, Efficient, who has picked up stakes this season of A$3,113,500.

VETERINARY REPORT :
“Our Due Diligence is your Quality Assurance”
This yearling passed a complex physical veterinary inspection by our contracted veterinarian
DR. TIM ROBERTS.
Dr TIM ROBERTS
Dr Roberts has been working closely with Dean Watt as Dean’s contracted veterinarian at yearling sales and stable work for the past 10 years. Both Tim and Dean have an excellent working relationship which has resulted in the high rate of success on the racetrack.
Tim, Dean and Adam (The Apprentice) inspecting a yearling's "Action"
as it is being paraded at the sales.
Tim has been an instrumental factor in Dean’s success.
X-RAYS being inspected in the X-Ray Repository at the Sales
All yearlings that Dean identifies as possible purchases MUST pass a detailed physical examination by Dr Roberts. If a yearling passes this examination then Dr Roberts and his equine practice partner Dr Brett Warren inspect a full set of 42 x-rays. If the yearling passes this inspection and the vets concur that there were no abnormalities present on x-ray then the yearling is approved for purchase. After being purchased, each yearling is allowed to be examined at the sale by endoscope to check its windflow. Our yearling was examined endoscopically and was found to normal in appearance and function.
