22/01/2008
PILLAR OF HERCULES
Dynamic Syndications paid $1.8m for outstanding racing and breeding prospect PILLAR OF HERCULES at public auction in November and the boom colt is on target for an ambitious Autumn carnival which if things go to plan will see the colt race in both Melbourne and Sydney.
Peter Moody has been delighted in the horse since his return from a spell and the horse had a serious jump out this morning at Caulfield and went super.
Pillar of Hercules will head to the trials at Cranbourne next week and has an racing exciting plan set out over the next 3 months.
It is likely he will resume on the 9th February in the Wellington Race Club Plate a Listed Race over 1400m. Then head into the Schweppervesence Cup over 1400m on 22 March and that will have him in peak condition for a crack at the Australian Guineas on the 8th March.
Then he will head to Sydney for races like the Randwick Guineas 1600m G1, Rosehill Guineas 2000m G1 and the AJC Derby 2400m G1.
A lot of time has to pass between now and then and everyday is a new adventure however if he finds success in any of these events the sky's the limit for the colt in the breeding barn.
PILLAR OF HERCULES is a 3/4 brother in blood to successful sire CATBIRD by boom leading second season sire ROCK OF GIBRALTAR whom many industry experts are tipping to become the next Danehill.
With the looks to match his name and pedigree the future is already assured for this stunning colt and with further racetrack success his book of top quality mares at stud is certain.
