On the home page now you will find a summary of our latest results and also the upcoming entries of all of our horses. This is just the start of making the Dynamic website even more user friendly. Stay tuned for more changes to come.

Midnight at Royal Ascot

Dynamic Syndications were proud to be a corporate sponsor of the recent Midnight at Royal Ascot soiree held at Crown Casino in Melbourne, Victoria. A 10% share in our Mossman x Time for Bed colt was auctioned on the night and even here, Nathan Tinkler and Patinack Farms held the upper hand and secured the share to come racing with Dynamic Syndications. Proceeds of the sale were donated to the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Centre Appeal. Congrats to all involved for such a great night.

Honor in War

GEORGE FRASER'S young Ilala stud at Scone is the now the equal biggest Australian owned stud by number of sires, headed only by the international giants Darley and Coolmore, following the addition for the 2008 season of Honor in War, an American bred performer who after winning at Group1 level in that country raced well in top races here.

Raced by Dean Watt's Dynamic Syndications, retirement to Ilala, a stud which is the closest breeding complex to Scone, takes their sire line up to ten, the same number that Lee Fleming has at his Eliza Park Stud at Kerrie in Victoria.

Honor in War, standing for an initial fee $11,000, is the stallion who at Randwick last March was awarded the Group 2 Villiers Stakes over 1400m after a two horse war with world champion sprinter Takeover Target.

The latter crossed the line a nose in front of the American, but impeded him to the extent that the stewards awarded the race to Honor in War. He may have won convincingly and matched or bettered Grand Armee's track record time of 1:21.06 if it had not been for the interference. As it was the official time for the race was 1:21.54.

Trained in Sydney by Chris Waller, Honor in War also showed some of the class here which had shown him up as one of the best turf performers of his time in America with a third in the Listed AJC Japan Racing Association Plate, a just over length fourth in the $100,000 STC Franklins Supermarket Open Handicap and a three-quarter length fifth in the Group 2 St George Stakes at Caulfield. In trials at Randwick he showed brilliance with a win over 1050m and a close second at 850m.

Honor in War's Australian performances gave him a two country career record of 47 starts resulting in 11 wins, five seconds, eight thirds and earnings of Aust$1,993,541.Ten of the wins were on top tracks in North America, a region in which he earned14 stakes cheques.

Three American Group1 performances that indicated that Honor in War was among the best grass performers in North America were a win in the $560,000 Turf Classic (1800m) at Churchill Downs and two seconds in what is considered America's premier all aged turf event, the $600,000 Keeneland Turf Mile. His time of 1:46.67 in the Turf Classic was the second fastest for the event in 20 years and was just outside the track record best of 1:46.34.

Honor in War won two of three starts at two, scored by five lengths at Arlington Park at his second appearance at three and seven of nine outings at four were wins at Churchill Downs (the Turf Classic), Gulfstream Park (1.3 lengths;1600m in 1:33.81), Keeneland ($100,000 event) and Arlington Park (the $200,000 Group 3 Arlington Handicap), a three-quarter length second at Keeneland (the Turf Mile), a third at Gulfstream Park and a 3.5 lengths sixth of 15 at New York's Belmont (the $400,000 Group1 Manhattan Handicap).

He has a pedigree that has class, toughness and durability in all the immediate ancestors and one that adds up to an ideal outcross for Danehill. On the top he is by Lord at War, a champion miler in Argentina, a dual Group1 winner in California and sire of 45 stakes winners. He is a grandson of one of Europe's greatest racehorses, Brigadier Gerard, a winner of 17 of 18 outings.

Catumbella, the dam of Honor in War, is by Diesis, a champion England juvenile, sire of 70 stakes winners and now a noted broomare sire from the Native Dancer male line, and from Benguela, a mare by the Sea-Bird American champion 3-year-old Little Current. Benguela is a half-sister to four major stakes performers including the Lord at War products La Gueriere (Group1 winner America) and Lord of Warriors (six wins Hong Kong).

Two relations are Allez France, a Sea-Bird product who at one time was the world's leading money earning mare, and Noble Bijou, the unraced son of Vaguely Noble who was a top sire from use in New Zealand, supplying over 400 winners including ten successful at Group1 level. It is a continuation of the celebrated La Troienne family.

Dynamic Performers and future runners

Noble Edict

Noble Edict has come back from his let up in super form. Since resuming, he has won one race and come second, by a nose both times, in his other two starts. Having never raced on a heavy track, Noble Edict lined up at Randwick in a 5 horse field, where two of the contestants had beaten him home in previous starts. That mattered little to this son of Noverre, as jockey Tim Clarke sat in third spot in the run before peeling off at the top of the straight. Getting to the lead at the 250m mark, Noble Edict easily held off all of the challengers to record his third win. At the recent Rosehill meeting, Noble Edict was ridden perfectly in transit by apprentice jockey Mitch Beadman. Hitting the lead at the 150m mark, Festus Hagen pounced on his inside and itself hit the lead with 50m to go. Noble Edict again then knuckled down to the task and was making ground and would have won the event in another bound. On the weekend he was second emergency and missed a run in the $100K Winter Stakes but there are a couple of races this weekend at Canterbury that will suit him.

Royal Singer

Coming out of the Nowra Cup, a strong form race where city winners such as Western Beau have come from, Royal Singer lined up at Canterbury Park in a rating 81 fillies and mares over 1900m. This was her first go on a heavy track. Never again. Taking no harm from the run, the decision was made to back her up, 9 days later, in open company over 1750mat Canberra on the Acton track. Taking on the best middle distance horses of the area, Royal Singer faced the breeze just off the pace for most of the trip. Making light of her hard run in transit, at the top of the straight she fought on, and on the line was pulling away from the field to win by a neck. It was a courageous win and in the process she took a massive 1.17 seconds off the class record at the track. This equates to about 7 lengths. The mare then stepped out over 2000m at Quenbeyan, giving her male rivals 4 kilos on Monday June 30th. In another typically honest display, she showed determination to the line but the weight just told in the end when she finished 3rd, beaten only half a length. She has now been sent out for a quick spell with the aim to bring her back and have a crack at some of the country cups around the rich provincial and country NSW circuit.

Eight Moons

A consistent performer over his career that has included placings in listed events, the arrival of Eight Moons back on the racing scene was something the owners and the Dynamic team were really looking forward to. Given an ideal run in transit over 1200m at Rosehill in a ratings 91 event, the horse's fitness just told over the final stages and he ran a very encouraging fourth. His next two starts have not gone to plan, and the horse is having a full veterinary check before his next move is decided upon.

Causeyacan

What a horse to be away from the track for 620 days and come back in the form that he has. Continuing on from his hot streak in May, Causeyacan lined up at Canterbury on a wild and wet Wednesday. Jumping well away, with the field, jockey Tim Clarke let the leaders alone to their suicidal pace and bided his time at the rear of the field. Approaching the turn, Tim let the horse stride up around the outside and in the matter of a few bounds, the race was over as Causeyacan cantered to the line untouched to win by an easy 3 lengths. Next start at Randwick did not go to plan, but the cause of that run has been found and he is now in the paddock having a short spell. His next campaign, races like the Magic Millions open 1400m race could well be on the agenda.

Regal Instinct

A horse with immense talent, Regal Instinct, the older half brother to Superior Instinct, has been frustrating of late after his tough win at Kembla Grange in April. Using our nation wide web of trainers, a decision was made to transfer the horse to the rural environment offered by the Corstens Racing Team in Romsey, Victoria, about an hour from the Melbourne CBD. Corstens Racing offers a rural environment with a grass and sand track, the same dimensions as the Seymour race track. They have an eight horse walker and terrific swimming facilities, as well as an excellent coffee machine in the trainer's platform. Regal Instinct has settled in well and we are looking forward to him stepping out on the track in the coming few weeks.

Eight Bees

Since this horse's arrival at Barb Joseph's stable, he has been a revelation. After a long break, he came back to racing with a third, then second and then won his maiden at his third start back. Thwarted by wet tracks since then, it would seem that the horse is a lovely horse over 1400m to 1600m and next preparation he will be trained with these events in mind. It is a tribute to his patient owners that they were rewarded with a successful campaign and the promise of more to come.

Twin Trist

Adelaide was not quite the happy hunting ground for this filly that we were expecting. Her second start in Adelaide in a class 1 was looking great as just before the turn she had gathered herself up through the field and was sitting just off the pace ready to strike. The racing gods then decided it wasn't her day when she was severely hampered and she found herself bustled out to second last. Having spat the dummy, she was allowed to coast to the line as she was no longer a winning chance. Trainer Mick Price has a nice opinion of the filly so make sure that she is in your black book for her next preparation.

Superior Instinct

Helping to bring up Dynamic Syndications second metropolitan double in 2 weeks, Superior Instinct showed his superior courage to win by the proverbial bee's %^$#*  at Canterbury Park. Ridden upside down in the small field, Superior Instinct was a sitting shot for something to peel off at the top of the straight. That of course happened and in the blink of an eye, Superior Instinct found himself a length and a half astern with only 150m to go. Picking himself up in the mud, Superior Instinct got there on the line. His next start was at Rosehill in Saturday grade and you know the saying, barriers win races. He drew wide and was not able to find cover and that was the end of his chances. Since the fitting of blinkers, the gelding has won two of three starts. He is a must to follow when he resumes in his next campaign.

Handsome Stash

After a promising first campaign which included a very nice 3rd at Wyong on debut, Handsome Stash had trialled well before making his race day resumption at Hawkesbury. Jumping with his customary early pace, he jumped perfectly and jockey Shane Moses was able to position the son of Secret Savings just off the pace. Coming off the fence approaching the turn, Handsome Stash got the split at the top of the straight. As the thoughts about fitness first up came to mind, Handsome Stash kept fighting and on the line he was beaten a half length by the winner into fourth spot. A very encouraging performance for what lies ahead for the horse. He is bred to be a 2000m+ horse and we can't wait for him to get over those distances.

Elusive Reserve

After an educational run first up, this son of Elusive Quality showed real guts at his second race start. Drawing the inside, the jock kept him there and as the field turned for home, he angled back towards the fence from behind the leaders and hit the lead. Just as it looked like he was going to get the chocolates he was swamped on the line to come third, beaten only a neck from the winner. It was a great effort, and while you could say we were on the worst part of the track, the jockey also saved a lot of ground in the run. Look out for him at future runs.

Cat Burglar

Resuming from a 20 week spell, Cat Burglar continued on from her very encouraging first racing preparation with a sound fourth at Randwick, over 1200m on a heavy track. Cat Burglar travelled sweetly in the run and when asked to extend at the top of the straight, was not entirely comfortable on the track rated a heavy 9. Showing her admirable fighting qualities she stuck on to finish fourth in the run to the line. Not entirely comfortable on the wet track at her next start at Rosehill, Cat Burglar is now in the care of John Hawkes. She is nominated to race this weekend at Canterbury and is one to watch out for.

Sarkosy

A first starter for Kembla Grange mentor, Bede Murray, Sarkosy blew away the maiden field assembled at Wagga Wagga. Given an excellent run throughout the race, jockey Jeff Penza had the son of French Deputy sitting in fourth spot before stoking him up on the corner. From there, he gave his rivals a galloping lesson, extending to win by 4.5 lengths in a time that was just a length outside the class record. If jockey Jeff Penza had of released the brakes down the straight, we would be reading about a new class record holder. His second career start was in a class 1 at Wyong. Apprentice Ben Looker was engaged and in the run, Ben reported that he was thinking how far? When he let him down at the 600m mark, we have now discovered that Sarkosy does not like wet tracks. Sarkosy is now having a spell and after speaking with trainer Bede Murray on the weekend, make sure that he is in your black book.

Acclimatise

An inconspicuous debut, where Acclimatise showed abundant pace before dropping out due to fitness, was followed by a most encouraging run at Cessnock. Ridden by the country king, Alan ?Robbo' Robinson, Acclimatise jumped well and travelled just behind the pace. Not handling the slow track for a second, Acclimatise showed admirable ticker to just finish behind the place getters. Stepping out next start at Cessnock again, he made up a lot of ground late to be beaten only a bit over 2 lengths and really put the writing on the wall for a 1400m+ maiden on drier ground. Watch out for him.

Saltator

A filly that has always had a spruik on her, Saltator lined up for her debut run at Kyneton for trainer, Mick Price.  Having performed well in her jump outs leading up to her first start, there was an air of expectation about her debut. Unfortunately, drawing the widest barrier brought about her undoing as she had to use her petrol tickets at both ends of the race. She showed tremendous dash to sit outside the leader after the jump, but this effort told at the finish when she was swamped close to the line. Now sitting in a paddock, having a rest, make sure that she is an entry in your black book as this filly has always impressed everyone that has handled her.

Dynamic Trainers News

Kevin Moses has been training many winners, Dynamic runners included. This has all been done while having to move his horses to Warwick Farm while Randwick hosts the World Youth Day forum. The move has gone smoothly for Kevin, Jenny and their team and all of the team has settled in well.

John Hawkes recently celebrated a 2 state treble with two winners at the midweek Canterbury meeting and a winner at the Sandown meeting on the same day. As well as this, one of his 2yo runners saluted at the recent Rosehill Saturday meeting. The stable is now starting to build momentum after virtually rebuilding from the ground up. Watch out for the stable over the coming months.

Peter Moody has certainly been in the headlines with both on and off course happenings. On the track, Riva San completed the Queensland Oaks / Derby double with dominant displays in both races. Off the track, he has been taking it up to the English, sticking up for the Aussie invaders, Takeover Target and Magnus at the just completed Royal Ascot meeting.

David Payne is the latest trainer to join the Dynamic stable and we are very happy to have him on board. David will be the trainer of some of our recent yearling purchases including Encosta de Lago x Calaway Gal colt, Dehere x France Soir filly and Midnight at Ascot (Mossman x Time for Bed colt). On the weekend, David continued his excellent run with his crop of 2yo's. At Rosehill, David was able to capture the 2yo race with Centennial Park proving too strong for his opposition. At Hawkesbury on the same day, Elusive Gift, the half brother to our Savvy Choice (Savabeel x Nivarda), made it a one horse affair.

Dynamic Breeding News

Calaway Gal

Not only was she a 2yo star, winning the Golden Slipper, the next phase of her life might be just as successful. Her first foal, a colt by Octagonal named Premium, was brought by leading WA trainer, George Daly. Premium saluted the judge in 1st position at only his second race start in emphatic fashion recently, over 1300m. This colt is one for your black book as his win was in the manner of many to come. Dynamic Syndications have recently sold the half brother to this colt by the champion sire, Encosta de Lago. He in fact goes around in the 2nd race at Belmont on Wednesday July 2nd.

Exceed and Excel

This star of the Australian turf and now dual hemisphere sire is really stamping himself as a champion sire of the future. His progeny have performing on the highest stage both here and overseas. Here in Australia we were able to see firsthand horses that performed with distinction such as Exceedingly Good and Wilander. At the recent Royal Ascot meeting, Exceed and Excel provided a winner at $101 in Flashmans Paper in the Listed Windsor Castle Stakes for 2yo's. Settling at the rear of the 25 horse field, and still near enough to last at the 400m mark, the colt charged to the lead and won in convincing fashion. This is the same race that Kingsgate Native won as a 2yo before beating Takeover Target in the Group 1 Golden Jubilee. We currently have available shares in an Exceed and Excel colt to be trained by Kevin Moses.

Catcher in the Rye

Catcher in the Rye is a Coolmore stallion that has stood just the two seasons in Australia. And what an impression he has made. Catcher in the Rye, cost 4,900,000ff out of the sales ring. The price was understandable when you match up his stunning conformation with the fact that his sire is Danehill and his first 4 dams are all stakes winners. As a 2yo he was stakes placed and then as a 3yo he was Group 1 placed in the French 2000 Guineas. Catcher in the Rye stood for only 2 seasons in Australia and his time here resulted in 132 live foals. Catcher in the Rye is currently standing second on the first season sires list, behind Exceed and Excel, for the number of individual winners. He has had 6 winners including the stakes winner, Rhyno Chaser. Rhyno Chaser is trained by one of our Dynamic trainers, Kevin Moses. Later in the year, Dynamic Syndications will be syndicating a colt by Catcher in the Rye with a pedigree rating of A+, 555%, Q7 that will be trained by Kevin Moses.

Lakab

As well as being one of the sponsors of the recent Midnight at Royal Ascot event at Crown Casino, Dynamic Syndications had another link to the Royal Ascot carnival. The dam of our Grand Cause, Lakab, had a runner in the Listed Hampton Court Stakes. Moynahan, coming off a fantastic 6th in the Group 1 2000 Guineas, just did not stay the distance of 2000m. Connections have reported that they will race him next at around 1600m. Lakab has had foals in three different countries, Australia, The US and England. Dynamic's Grand Cause is back in pre training after an extended spell and will be one to watch when he gets back to the track in about 10 weeks.

Shares for sale

Come and race a stallion prospect with Dynamic Syndications by Australia's leading first season sire and son of the immortal Danehill.

The group 1 Coral Eclipse Stakes, run at the Sandown Course in the UK, has had some of the greats of the turf and stallion barn, salute the judge in the first position. The honour roll includes Sadler's Wells, Giant's Causeway, Refuse to Bend, Hawk Wing, Oratrio and after the weekend, you can add Mount Nelson.

Mount Nelson is bred on the same cross as our latest offering, a colt by Exceed and Excel from Sharp Awakening (Selkirk).

This colt has the outstanding pedigree rating of A++, 2,111% based on the Danehill over Selkirk mares cross. This nick is very new to Australia but in the UK has produced Mount Nelson and Simply Perfect to win Group 1 races from very few matings.

A genuine stallion prospect, this colt was the pick of the Inglis Classic Yearling catalogue on both pedigree rating and conformation. He was the only colt passed 100% by our vet, Dr Tim Roberts, in the entire catalogue.

Exceed and Excel is about to be crowned the leading first season sire in all categories. It has been a glorious start to his stud career with his 2yo's running like the wind. This colt on offer, will be given every chance to race in the major 2yo races to enhance his pedigree for future plans.

Please click here to be taken to his page on our website

A 10% share in this colt, with full owner's privileges is $19,800 inc GST. He will be trained by Kevin Moses from his Randwick base. Kevin was in fact one of the under bidders for the colt.

Please let me know if you have any questions or would like more information about this most exciting colt.

Dynamic Trivia

Last month's winner of the Dynamic trivia was Graeme Webster who answered correctly that the half brother to Superior Instinct is Regal Instinct.

To win the Dynamic prize pack this month, please reply back to myself by clicking on the following matt@dynamicsyndications.com.au  with the answer to the following.
