Dynamic result as ACOUPLAMAS wins in brilliant return
1/02/2010
The Kevin Moses trained 3yo filly ACOUPLAMAS (Al Maher ex Mahira) pronounced A COUPLE OF MA's (Al MA her ex MA hira) dominated a field of Fillies and Mares to win a 1000m scamper at Kembla Grange on Saturday and in doing so sizzled around in 57.55 secs coming home her last 600m in an incredibly quick 32.95 secs making her the only horse to break the 33 second mark on the programme.
In recording her sizzling win ACOUPLAMAS became Dynamic Syndications sixth winner in the month of January and she has taken our 2009-10 racing season ( 6 months = 1/2 way through) total to 32 wins and she became our 135th winner in just over 4 years.
Congratulations to Dynamic Team of Winning Owners : Dynamic Synd. Acouplamas Synd, Archer Synd, Ms A Quigley, Jigsaw No 4 Synd, J Dasilva, Landas Galletta Synd, Ms B Dick, Rocket Racing Synd & D Morey
Acouplamas was back to the racetrack after a spell and had trialled very well leading into the race at Randwick when given an easy time for a third behind the Waterhouse trained Dee Bee Nine. Form students would have also found the trial winner on the day who blitzed its opposition in winning the final race at Kembla.
What is exciting about the filly is that she can show so much pace for a horse bred to run a trip.
She is a daughter of a Guineas winner and Gloaming Stakes winner who won 5 races up to 1800m and was most effective between 1600m and 1800m.
However it is the female family that also shows a distinct pattern to middle distance ground. Her dam Mahira is an unraced 1/2 sister to SP Kensington Gardens a quality racemare herself who won over 2100m but most importantly she is the source of incredibly 5 Stakes Winners including: BLACKFRIARS (VRC Derby Gr1 2500m) LARROCHA (South Australia Oaks Gr1 2400m) MANTON (Tulloch S Gr2 2000m) WATERFORD ROAD (Werribee Cup LR2000m) LION'S GATE (Geelong Classic LR 2200m).
Interestingly Acouplamas is showing incredible early gatespeed and the ability to sprint off a fast early clip.
Acouplamas had just one start in her first preparation but was still very immature at the time. She ran well at Gosford and was put away to allow more time to strengthen and mature. On Saturday she was facing the starter for just the second time in her career. She showed her brilliant gatespeed and dashed forward and could have lead by several lengths but was restrained by apprentice Taylor Lovelock-Wiggins at the girth of the leader. Instructions were simply to hold her up until balanced into the straight and wait until the 300m before asking the filly to extend. The rider followed this plan perfectly and when he pushed the go button she rallied well and fought off her challengers well to defeat the odds-on favourite by a long head with a further 2 lengths back to the second favourite in third position.
In winning the BOBS eligible filly picked up the $9,100 first prize cheque and another $4,000 for the owners percentage in BOBS bonus funds.
She is another runner by the very promising sire AL MAHER who stands at EmiratesPark stud. Dynamic Syndications have purchased several yearlings by the sire who have all displayed above average ability to date and a preference to be at 1600m + as older horses. So it was quite refreshing that this filly shows such blistering speed. If she can maintain this turn of foot over longer trips it could be exciting for her connections.
Kevin Moses has done a terrific job with the filly to have her performing so well at just her first run into this preparation over an unsuitable distance. Hopefully if he keeps polishing her she will be able to sparkle brightly over the weeks ahead.
